The Jazz Education Network is dedicated to building the jazz arts community by advancing education, promoting performance and developing new audiences.

About JEN

Founded in 2008, the Jazz Education Network (JEN) is the not-for-profit organization that unifies, leads and strengthens the global jazz community. The organization and its annual conference, serves as a hub for people who wish to advance education, promote performance and develop new audiences. JEN proudly represents a worldwide community of people who are passionate about jazz and jazz education, providing them with the tools, learning and networking environment they need to pursue it. JEN is comprised of more than 1,000 members presently and continues to grow on a daily basis.

3rd Annual JEN Conference

The theme of the 2012 Jazz Education Network 3rd Annual Conference will be "Developing Tomorrow's Jazz Audiences Today!" The conference will be held in the outstanding facilities of the Galt House Hotel, a landmark in Louisville situated next to the Ohio River. With over 126,000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel affords JEN an opportunity for growth as needed, with ample room to spread our wings without noise bleed and interference from clinic to clinic, concert to concert. Upwards of 3,000 attendees are expected to attend.  Plans have been finalized to add multiple technology offerings this year and a research component, in addition to maintaining the diversity of offerings identified with the JEN annual conference. JEN is proud to announce that TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators) will be holding their 2012 National TI:ME Conference in a collaborative partnership with the Jazz Education Network 2012 Conference. Additionally, we have partnered with the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus to present a Jazz Audience Initiative Research Track of offerings to run parallel with presentations related to the Jazz Audiences Initiative, studying fundamental questions related to how and why people engage with jazz.
